What We Do

The Kry Foundation is a community-led, Cambodian-Australian nonprofit working to improve women's health across Cambodia, especially in provinces and underserved areas.

We focus on:
  • Free health check-ups

Providing basic screenings and medical advice in accessible, trusted local settings.

  • Follow-up and support

Connecting women with trusted healthcare services, helping navigate costs, and offering guidance after their initial check-up.

  • Community education

Teaching women and families to understand signs and symptoms, seek help early, and prioritise women's health in everyday life.

Who We're Here For:
  • Women and girls of all ages, from the young to the elderly.

  • Rural and low-income communities with limited access to care.

  • Families who need education and support to care for female relatives.

Why It Matters

In Cambodia:
  • Many women skip medical care due to cost, stigma, or misinformation.

  • Pain is often ignored or masked with over-the-counter medications, instead of being properly diagnosed or treated,

  • Reproductive illnesses, pregnancy complications, chronic conditions, and cancer are underdiagnosed or mistreated.

  • Medical errors, fear, or lack of trust in the healthcare system prevent many from returning to care, even when their condition worsens.

We believe every woman deserves the chance to live a healthy, dignified life, no matter their income, location, or background.

How We Work

We aim to build programs led by Khmer voices and supported by Cambodian and Australian volunteers.

We’ll begin with a small pilot and grow based on what communities tell us they need most.

🤝 We hope to co-design future programs with local women, families, and leaders to make sure our work is truly relevant, respectful, and needed.

🌼 We’re committed to offering services in Khmer and grounding everything in cultural understanding, so care feels safe and familiar.

🌱 We hope to partner with clinics, midwives, educators, and NGOs to strengthen existing systems — not duplicate them.

🔍 We’ll listen closely, adapt, and improve. Everything will be shaped by real stories, data, and ongoing community input.
